Police are investigating an incident of criminal damage after CCTV footage has emerged of a man vandalising a vehicle in Great Harwood.

In the video, a man can be walking down Lomax Street and pulling on a car door handle, before kicking and ragging a wing mirror and then smashing the car's window with his bag.

The incident took place on Monday, July 11, at around 4.25am.

Bob Riley has shared the CCTV footage with police in the hopes of catching the person responsible for damaging his car.

He said: “When I woke up on Monday morning and saw the damage I was fuming.

“As you can see from the CCTV, the car is completely smashed.

"He has completely smashed the back passenger window and he has also broken the windscreen and the driver’s wing mirror.

“My insurance covers some of the damage so I think the smashed windows will cost me £75 to fix.

"I’m waiting to find out how much the damaged wing mirror will cost me.”

Bob said the damage has also disrupted his holiday plans.

He said: “Luckily we have two cars, because I am going on holiday this week and driving up to Scotland.

“We are still going but we’ve had to delay it by a day in order to sort this all out.”

Bob said this is “isn’t the usual behaviour” on his street.

He said: “I was disappointed when I saw this footage – I don’t even know who that lad is. This isn’t the usual behaviour for this street.

“I am hoping someone recognises the person on CCTV so I can report it to the police.”

Lancashire Police said they are aware of the incident and looking into it.
