LANCASHIRE Evening Telegraph photographers were often sent out to get some every-day street scenes to accompany stories about one particular town centre or another across East Lancashire.
They weren’t the photographers’ favourite jobs but what they have done is provide us with a great record of how our town centres and main shopping streets used to look.
This week, we have been into the archives and unearthed a few gems which show Padiham in the Seventies and Eighties.
Some things remain familiar today while others have changed considerably.
