Photogenic women from East Lancashire are being urged to enter the Miss Manchester beauty pageant – and the winner has the chance to be named Miss England.

The countdown is on for the Miss Manchester competition date on July 31, and the organisers are asking for more young girls from Lancashire, Manchester, and Cheshire to enter.

This year, the contest will be run as a photographic regional final, with the winner receiving direct entry into the Miss England finals.

All selected contestants will be invited to a makeover and photoshoot at Flawless Photography studios in Lever Street, Manchester, to have an entry picture taken and a full photo shoot in various outfits.

Entry to the Miss Manchester Contest is free and it is open to young ladies aged 17 to 26.

Skelmersdale woman, Jess Gagen, is one of the entries in this year’s competition.
