A wannabe car thief has been arrested after being chased by a police dog.
On Saturday night, officers from the response team along with the dog patrol were called to Wiseman Street in Burnley after receiving reports of a man breaking into vehicles.
Police swiftly located the man and deployed one of the force's dogs, who intercepted and detained the man.
He was then arrested and on suspicion of vehicle interference and criminal damage and was due to be interviewed on Sunday.
A spokesperson for the police said on Sunday morning: "Overnight, officers from Team 5 Response and the dog patrol have attended reports of males breaking into vehicles along Wiseman Street in Burnley.
"One male has been located on the street and intercepted by the dog.
"He was duly arrested for vehicle interference and criminal damage.
"He is now taking residence at our bed and breakfast with an en-suite room.
"He will be interviewed about the offences later on today."
