Three teenagers have been arrested and charged with a burglary in Blackburn The incident happened in the Mill Hill area on 26 June whilst an elderly vulnerable male was out watching his local cricket team playing.

The alleged offenders had smashed several windows with bricks before gaining entry and proceeded to rifle through the man's personal belongings.

A plasma television was taken and later found in the nearby canal.

A police spokesperson said: “Local residents have supported the male during this difficult time by assisting with the damaged windows and replacing his television.

“Several teams were quickly utilised to seize CCTV and gather evidence in order to identify the offenders responsible.

“The teenagers will be appearing at Blackburn Magistrates Court in due course.”
