Four fire engines were on the scene to deal with a fire in a derelict building in Blackburn.

Crews from Blackburn, Colne, Bolton North and an aerial ladder platform from Hyndburn were called to the incident at 14:18 today (July 1) on Fishmoor Drive, which took around two hours to bring under control.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The incident involved a row of four derelict houses. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reels, a triple extension ladder and DeWalt saw to extinguish the fire.

"Crews were in attendance for approximately two hours."

The cause of the fire is still to be determined and there have been no reports of any injuries as yet.
