A COUNCIL is to consider live streaming its meeting online.
The leader of Hyndburn Council Cllr Miles Parkinson said its cabinet would consider the move.
He was responding to a motion at the authority's full meeting urging it to take the step to 'move into the 21st century’.
The digital demand has come from two Conservative councillors in Hyndburn borough m- Cllrs Josh Allen and Dominik Allen.
They want to see the authority return to showing meetings to the public on its YouTube channel.
The councillors say while meetings moved online during the pandemic, as a necessity, the return to in-person gatherings meant residents could not watch proceedings remotely.
“We as a council need to be more accessible and be seen to be working for the residents of this borough,” they add.
The move was supported by Labour
Netherton ward's Cllr Noordad Aziz said: "We are behind the times."
