The Darwen East ward has been revealed as the ‘cheapest’ area of Blackburn with Darwen to buy a house in 2021.
The average house price in the area last year was £80,500, with the next cheapest areas to buy being Blackburn Central (£85,000) and Ewood (£90,000).
This is way below the average Blackburn with Darwen house price which in April was £137,694, Land Registry figures show. While that is a 0.5 per cent decrease from March, it is still up more than 10 per cent from 12 months earlier.
But what does an £80,500 house look like in Darwen East?
There is one property listed with Strike on Rightmove for £80,000 on Anyon Street, Darwen, which is a buy-to-let investment.
The two-bedroom property currently houses tenants of 14 years.
On the ground floor, there is an entrance hallway, lounge and spacious kitchen with an extension.
On the first floor, there are two bedrooms and a bathroom.
The property comes double glazed and is warmed by gas central heating.
Externally the property has a paved backyard to the rear.
