Bolton charity Fortalice will be hosting a fell walk on Saturday, July 9  - and residents from across the borough are invited to take part.

The 8k sponsored fell walk will cover the Pennine Moors, walking over the iconic Winter Hill and Rivington Pike.

Once at the top of the Hill, on a clear day walkers will be able to see the views of Cumbrian fells, Blackpool Tower and the Welsh mountains.

Fortalice works hard to provide vital frontline services for those who have been affected by domestic abuse.

These include outreach services within the community, education, accredited training and refuge accommodation which can hold up to 22 women and 70 children.

A former resident of Fortalice said the charity changed their life.

“Being in Fortalice has really change my life for the better.

"The fantastic help from staff has taught me to believe in myself.

"Seeing my daughter who was quiet and shy blossom into a bright, confident girl has made every second worth it."

Gill Smallwood, MBE Chief Executive of Fortalice said: “Fortalice Fells Walk is set to be a great event.

"We hope to raise significant funds which really will help us continue the vital work we provide to our families.

"Huge thanks to our main sponsor Franking Sense your support is greatly appreciated."

Franking Sense® Managing Director, Julian Gilbert said: “We are delighted to be a part of this event to continue to help a truly worthy cause.
