Officers suspicious of a car in Darwen last night (July 27) were vindicated when its driver attempted to evade them at high speed.
Lancashire Police said that the "coppers nose struck again" as the Mazda fled after being approached by police.
Unfortunately for the suspect driver, the vehicle became trapped in some roadworks and was boxed-in, enabling the officers to detain the driver.
Officers subsequently found he was disqualified from driving and had no insurance, so was arrested and the vehicle seized.
