A car has been seized after a driver admitted to officers that they couldn’t afford insurance.
The police stopped the black Ford Fiesta on Blackburn Road on Sunday afternoon after their computers flagged the vehicle as being uninsured.
When questioned, the driver admitted that they knew the vehicle was not covered, but had decided to ‘chance it’.
A spokesman said: “Patrols stopped this Ford Fiesta off Blackburn Road as it flagged up as having no insurance. The driver admitted to not being able to afford insurance so thought he would ‘chance it’. Driver reported and vehicle seized.”
