A man who robbed a shop in Darwen is being sought by police.

The incident occurred at around 8.25pm on Monday, June 20, at the Co-op store in Blackburn Road, and Lancashire Constabulary are appealing for information.

The man went into the shop and picked up a case of lager from a display stack near before approaching the checkout.

After placing the case on the till area, he produced a weapon and threatened a staff member.

He then forced his way into the till area, demanded money before taking an undisclosed amount of cash and fleeing from the shop.

The suspect is described as being a while male, approximately 6ft and of medium build, wearing a black Nike hoodie, black shorts and a black baseball cap.
