A primary school clinched the Blackburn with Darwen school cricket championships last week, being crowned the borough's best on finals day.
The years 5 and 6 from Audley Junior School bowled over St Paul’s, Feniscowles and Sacred Heart to the trophy.
Mr Shuttleworth, from the school, said: “It was an amazing tournament for all participating schools who had been without any cricket competition for three years.
"It proved to be a tense but thoroughly hard worked semi-final with Sacred Heart.
“Again, the team came up against a determined and skilled opposition in St. Paul’s, Feniscowles.
“However, the boys dug in and overcame their nerves in securing a great win with astounding cricket skills by exceptional leadership which played a vital ingredient.”
