A TEENAGE girl has been airlifted to hospital after she was hit by a car.

Emergency services were called to Burnley Road in Huncoat at 8.44am this morning after an accident took place.

Those living in the area reported seeing police officers closing the road and an air ambulance landing in the cemetery.

A police spokesman has now confirmed that the incident took place between a teenage girl, who has been taken to the Royal Manchester Hospital with head and arm injuries, and a car.

Any witnesses should call police on 101, quoting log 0318 of June 17, 2022.
