Heatwave: Hour-by-hour forecast as Blackburn set to be hotter than LA

Temperatures are set to reach the mid-30s in parts and it will be hotter in southern and central England and The Met Office issued an amber heat alert for these areas.

This is triggered when the Met Office confirms threshold temperatures for one of more regions have been reached for one day and the following night, and the forecast for the next day has a greater than 90 per cent confidence level that the day threshold temperature will be met.

This stage requires social and healthcare services to target specific actions at high-risk groups.

In Lancashire, temperatures aren’t set to surpass 30°C with highs of 24°C predicted – and there is even some cooling rain in the forecast this evening. However, it is still set to be hotter than some exotic locations, including LA in California.
