An art exhibition being held in Rossendale is set to benefit a heart foundation.

Original Paintings in acrylics and water-soluble oils by David Makinson, as well as prints and cards will be available to purchase at the Rossendale Rugby Club, Marl Pits, on Saturday, July 23, from 2pm onwards.

David Makinson, 58 lives in Hindley, Wigan, with wife Christine. 

David was born with a complex congenital heart condition – Tetralogy of Fallot - and to date has had two major open-heart surgeries and four ICD (Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators). He also has Rheumatoid Arthritis. 

David took up painting in January 2018 as a stress relief from living with complex, life-long medical conditions, and specialises in painting people and particularly favours bold colour and art deco styles.

All sales of his paintings are donated to the Somerville Heart Foundation who offer invaluable support to young people and adults living with lifelong complex congenital heart issues.
