Adults can eat and drink whilst getting creative at an Adult Pottery Painting Night taking place in Accrington tonight.
Shirley Anne Howard, 58, of Blackburn is the owner of Art Cafe ‘Space2Make’ and runs an afternoon pottery paining class for adults during term times.
Tonight’s ‘adult night out with a twist’ is open to everyone regardless of artistic ability or experience.
There will be more than 300 pottery pieces to choose from with lots of stamps, stencils, ideas to help inspire and create.
Shirley said: As well as being creative, pottery painting is hugely therapeutic, and a great way to express yourself whilst unwinding.
“In a world that is constantly and rapidly changing, pottery is a constant. It’s about spending a few hours relaxing and making art for you.”
Shirley prioritises making her classes welcome to people from all backgrounds. Whether people are retired, working all week or want something different for date night, ‘a night to be creative is for everyone.’
Sharing why she thinks pottery painting is important and beneficial to people, Shirley added: “I love this quote, 'My hope is that someday the arts will be considered as significant in everyone’s lives as breathing fresh air, eating clean foods, and performing physical exercise,’ by artist Renee Philips.”
The class will take place tonight Wednesday June, 15 at 6:30pm at 70-72 Blackburn Road.
