The UK is set to bask in glorious sunshine later this week, as temperatures are set to reach the mid-30s in parts – but will East Lancashire be as lucky?

Met Office forecasters say this week’s fine weather is just the beginning with other heatwaves set to take place in the coming months.

“There’s not been much in the way of exceptionally warm days or hot days yet this year, but that is set to change,” the Met Office’s Steven Keates said.

“We’re set to see probably a brief spell of hot weather at the end of this coming week.”

In the UK, the best weather will hit on Friday, June 17, with temperatures reaching 32°C in parts.

While temperatures won’t reach the 30s in East Lancashire it is still set to be a scorcher in parts.
