A LOCAL education authority has revealed its school holiday pattern for 2023/24.
Blackburn with Darwen Council has approved its vacation timetable for the academic year after next.
Education boss Cllr Julie Gunn told the authority's executive board which rubber stamped the scheme: "Schools have a preference for the us to set a pattern that is aligned with the dates that have been
agreed by Lancashire County Council.
"In this way there is less disruption for families and employees."
Conservative group leader said: "That is sensible."
For the autumn term 2023 schools will re-open on Friday September, shut for half-term from Monday October 23 to Friday October 27 inclusive with studies ending on Friday December 22.
The spring term 2024 will start on Monday January 28 with a mid-term closure Monday February 12 to Friday February 16 inclusive and it will end on Thursday March 28.
For the summer term 2024 schools will re-open on April 15 with a May Day closure on Monday May 6.
Half-term will run from Monday May 27 to Friday May 31 inclusive and the academic year will end on Monday July 22.
Edgworth CE/Methodist Primary School and Belmont Community Primary school will follow the agreed holiday pattern of Bolton Council.
