A MAN in his 60's has been left with serious leg injuries after a crash involving two cars and a pedestrian.

Police were called to Market Street in Whitworth at 8.46pm on Tuesday evening after a crash between two cars, before one of the vehicles struck a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, a man in his 60’s, suffered a number of injuries to his leg.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency services responded to the incident.

Sergeant David Hurst of Lancashire Police’s Tactical Operations said: "This collision has left a man with some very serious injuries.

"We are working to establish the full circumstances of what led to the collision, and I would ask anybody who could assist to contact the police as soon as possible."

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, have CCTV or dashcam footage, to call 101 quoting log 1360 of June 7.
