An investigation is underway after a Land Rover was stolen from a farm, abandoned after being badly damaged and then stolen again.

The Land Rover Discovery was stolen from a farm in Tosside, Ribble Valley before police found it again in the Knot area of Newsholme.

The officers were then able to take pictures of the car but police reported today that the car had been stolen again before they could return it to its rightful owner.

A Ribble Valley police spokesperson said: “The attached images of the vehicle, with significant front-end damage, were taken when the vehicle was later located in the Knot Lane area of Newsholme however prior to it being recovered by the owner it was unfortunately stolen again.

“As can be seen in the attached images the vehicle is quite distinctive with the extra-large, extra wide tyres as it was being used as a farm vehicle.

“We are keen to find out if any properties along the route between Tosside and Newsholme, Settle Lane, Kiln Lane, Neps Lane, Settle Road and Knot Lane, may have CCTV footage of the vehicle in transit between 12.45am and 2am on Tuesday June 7.”
