Thousands of fans welcomed back the first summer Darwen Live event in three years.

The popular free festival, had like many others, had to be postponed due to the Covid pandemic with a delayed event taking place in October last year.

This year, as the country celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, crowds were treated to an array of bands and acts from across the UK and locally over two days.

On Saturday, duo Clark Datchler and Mike Nocito of Johnny Hates Jazz wowed crowds as they stopped in Darwen as part of series of UK wide dates. The band is best known for a cycle of hits in the late 1980s, the most successful being Shattered Dreams.
