A DISQUALIFIED driver who was found behind the wheel trying to give police fake details was rumbled by a fingerprint scanner.
Officers in Haslingden stopped an Audi and spoke with the driver who tried to give them false details, however his identity was discovered with a mobile fingerprint machine.
Police also found cannabis in the car which has been seized.
A spokesperson for Lancashire police said: “Following on from community information your Rossendale Rural Task Force has stopped this Audi in the Haslingden area.
“A funny smell from the car resulted in the officers finding some cannabis. The driver tried to spin us a tail with false details not counting on our mobile fingerprint machine.
“Once true details were discovered it emerged the driver is a disqualified driver. Reported for numerous offences at the roadside and the Audi has been seized.”
