DARWEN Live is taking place this Jubilee weekend featuring 70s crooners Hot Chocolate, and festival favourites The Lancashire Hot Pots bringing the entertainment.

The free-to-attend live music festival is back, bigger and better than ever and promises to be a weekend fit for a Queen.

Lancashire Telegraph:

And in tribute to two East Lancashire musicians, Jack Anwyl and Jonathan Lindley, who sadly died earlier this year, the main stage at the festival has been named in honour of them.

The weekend line-up on the Lindley-Anwyl stage also features local band Novustory, who have a recording studio based in Blackburn, Ska Face, and The Foundations.

A spokesperson for Darwen Live said: "Both of these men (Jonathan and Jack) were passionate about music and loved Darwen Live so it seemed fitting to pay tribute in our own small way.

"Don't forget if there's nothing here for you then there are plenty of other venues which offer everything from DJ's to tribute acts and everything in between."

Food will also be available in the Main Stage area on the day from the likes of:

  • Chadwicks - burgers, hotdogs
  • Greek Street Food - gyros, halloumi fries
  • Fodder Box - grilled cheese sandwiches in lots of flavours and other delights

And people will be able to purchase food and drink from some of Darwen's permanent traders such as Delicarlo and Sweet Vintage who will be open extended hours on both days and The Corner Caff will be open on Saturday.
