A STOLEN car has been recovered and its driver arrested on the motorway.
At around 9pm yesterday, the Volkswagen Polo was brought to a stop on the M65 by three Tac-Ops vehicles which "boxed in" the stolen motor, preventing a further pursuit.
One officer was seen clambering over the bonnets of the vehicles to get to and arrest the driver, without requiring assistance from a police dog.
Lancashire Police said: "This stolen Volkswagen Polo was sighted by officers on the M65.
"The vehicle was boxed in by three of our vehicles to prevent a pursuit.
"The officer who spotted the car didn’t need his police dog on this occasion, instead climbing over the bonnet to make the arrest."
Boxing in is where police officers use their vehicles to surround a suspect vehicle, allowing it no escape and slowly bringing the vehicle to a stop.
