A 35-year-old attacked his father during a row over him tidying his bedroom.

Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard Kyle Alan Moorcroft punched his dad repeatedly to the head.

He continued the attack even when his mum put herself between the two men.

Moorcroft, 35, of Moor Close, Darwen, pleaded guilty to assaulting Alan Moorcroft.

He was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.

Scott Parker, prosecuting, said the defendant had his own bedroom at his parents' house and spent a lot of time in there.

The night before the incident his dad asked him to tidy his room.

"That request seems to have created a flash point at breakfast the following morning," said Mr Parker.

"He started shouting and swearing at his father and then started punching him to the head are. Mr Moorcroft lost count of how many times he was hit.

"His wife came into the kitchen and put herself between them but the defendant continued punching his dad and swearing at him."

Kyle Moorcroft will be sentenced for the assault at a later date.
