THE funeral of a former worker in the Hyndburn Council planning office took place on Friday.

June Rimmington, formerly of Haworth Street, Oswaldtwistle, passed away peacefully on May 4.

During her life, the 84-year-old had worked as shorthand typist for English Electric, the local council planning office as well as the Church Council, she also worked covering temporary posts for various solicitors offices.

In her spare time and during her retirement she enjoyed music, going on holidays abroad, her favourite place being the south west of Spain. A bit closer to home she enjoyed shopping days at Lytham and going for meals out.

She also enjoyed watching quizzes on TV and was a member of her local congregation of Jehovah Witnesses.

She was a dearly loved daughter of the late Joe and Mary (Polly), a much loved cousin, auntie and also a friend to many.

A memorial service is taking place place at 11am today at Accrington Crematorium, prior to committal.
