More ‘nuisance and dangerous’ off-road bikes are being ridden in public areas.
Officers say they have noticed an increase in anti-social behaviour being caused by off-road bikes being driven in public areas causing ‘nuisance and danger’ to the public.
Yesterday (May 20), police received reports of off-road bikes causing a nuisance and driving erratically in Darwen.
Officers were successful in stopping one of these bikes along with the owner who had no insurance.
The rider was dealt with in a 'robust and professional manner'.
A spokesperson for the police said: “We will not tolerate this sort of behaviour on our streets and are committed to dealing with any persons who think it’s acceptable to behave in that way.
“If you see anything unacceptable please contact 101 or report online at the Lancashire Constabulary website.
“We can't promise to get them all but we will promise to continue to make our streets safer.”
