A teenager has been arrested in connection with aggravated burglary.
Police had put out an appeal earlier this week asking for help in tracking down Haaris Bilal, 19 from Leyland, who was wanted in connection with a burglary.
On Friday, officers announced that they had arrested Bilal, who also has links to Blackburn and Chorley, and thanked members of the public who shared their appeal and who came forward with information.
A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “On Wednesday we asked for your help in finding 19-year-old Haaris Bilal from Leyland, who also had links to Blackburn and Chorley.
“We wanted to speak to him in connection with an aggravated burglary.
“Just to update you, Bilal was arrested last night, May 19, on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
“He remains in custody at this time.
“Thank you, as ever, to everybody who shared and supported our appeal.”
The initial appeal to help find Bilal had been put out by officers in both Chorley and Blackburn on Wednesday.
Now, just two days later officers say they are grateful he has been caught so quickly.
Anyone with concerns about burglary or other similar crimes in their areas can call police on 101 or 999 in the event of an emergency.
