
This is arguably one of the most well-known of East Lancashire’s lost pubs whose name is still in use today.
Taken in 1977 this photo shows the Load of Mischief at Clayton-le-Moors, at the corner of Whalley Road and Blackburn Road.
The ‘Load’ was a regular bus stop and was demolished to make way for the M65.
