TAKE THAT band members have confirmed they will be making a cameo appearance in an upcoming musical that was filmed in East Lancashire.

Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen spoke to Hollywood news site, Deadline, and confirmed they will be making a “10 second” appearance in ‘Greatest Days’, which was filmed in and around Clitheroe last month.

Sadly, Jason Orange and Robbie Williams are not currently set to make an appearance.

The three Take That cast members arrived at the 75th Cannes Film Festival earlier this week. They were taking part in a photocall in order to introduce Greatest Days to international film buyers.

Speaking exclusively to Deadline, Gary Barlow said the trip play buskers who are serenading passersby at a train station in Athens, with their hit song ‘Shine’.

Gary said: “Yeah, we did the scene once [director] Coky Giedroyc negotiated our ten-minute cameo down to about three seconds.”

The film is based on the stage musical, The Band, about a group of women who reunite after 25 years to see their favourite pop act.

It follows the success of musical 'juke box' movies like Mamma Mia and will feature 16 of Take That’s greatest hits as well as new material.

The band members will be played by Aaron Bryan, Dalvin Cory, Joshua Jung, Mark Samaras and Mervin Noron.

“The five lads in the fictional band are us but they’re not us, if you know what I mean. They sing Take That songs and I suppose there are aspects that are similar to us,” said Barlow.

“This has been a really fun thing to do, being part of this. We haven’t had much responsibility which has been the nice bit.

“Everyone else has done the hard work. But it’s such a treat to see people working in our industry again, and to see them doing it with our music is the cherry on the cake.”

The film is being sold worldwide by Bron releasing, CAA Media Finance and Elysian Film Group and Elysian Film Group will release the film in the UK in 2023.
