From The Jam have rescheduled their East Lancashire gig for the second time after a band member has fallen ill.

This comes after vocalist and guitarist, Russell Hastings, suffered a “small heart attack” leaving him unable to attend upcoming performances.

A statement from the band said:"Russell Hastings, vocalist/guitarist with From The Jam, has had a small heart attack and is now in hospital awaiting a stent procedure to get him back to full fitness for which he’s assured by the cardiac team will be the case.

“All upcoming rescheduled dates are now confirmed.”

From The Jam were meant to be playing at the 700-person capacity Burnley’s Mechanics Theatre in Manchester Road, next Saturday, May 28.

It has now been postponed but a spokesperson for the Mechanics Theatre said the new rescheduled date has not yet been confirmed.

Ticketholders will be updated on the new date once it has been confirmed.

It is the second time the gig has been postponed, having been initially meant to take place on April 10, 2021.

From The Jam is a mod revival/punk rock band which features Bruce Foxton from the original ‘ The Jam’ line up, who performed alongside legendary frontman Paul Weller with hits including 'Town Called Malice' and 'Going Underground'.

Bruce is joined by Russell Hastings on lead vocal and guitar.

From The Jam have gained a reputation for the kind of incendiary live performances that sealed the reputation of The Jam during the 1970s and 80s.

Audiences can expect to hear classic The Jam hits such as Down In The Tube Station At Midnight, and the aforementioned Going Underground and Town Called Malice, as well as some live favourites and songs from Bruce’s solo career.
