ORGANISATIONS across Blackburn with Darwen are being invited to apply for UK Shared Prosperity Fund money for projects that support the growth and prosperity of the borough.

Blackburn with Darwen Council has received a £6m allocation from the government, to be invested over the next three years.

The Council is developing an investment plan to direct this funding and is now inviting Expressions of Interest from local organisations.

Proposals must align with one or more of the three investment priorities of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund:

  • Community and Place
  • Supporting Local Business
  • People and Skills

Leader of the council, Cllr Phil Riley, said: "This is an exciting opportunity to complement our local growth plans.

"We’re really keen to learn from local organisations to build on their insight and knowledge.

"We’re also open to considering proposals that link with wider economic opportunities beyond Blackburn with Darwen to strengthen the delivery of local outcomes.

"Given the level of interest and the limited scale of funding available, we expect a high demand for funding and may have to prioritise demands."

Expressions of interest can be submitted from Monday, May 16 and no later than Friday, June 3 2022.
