A TEENAGE girl has been left with life changing back injuries after a head-on collision with another car last night.

The accident happened on Broadhead Road, close to the Plantation Road junction in Edgworth. The road was closed by emergency services for several hours and six people were taken to hospital.

At least two fire engines, three ambulances and an air ambulance were at the scene.

Lancashire Police said: "We were called to Broadhead Road, Turton, at 9.41pm yesterday (May 13) following reports of a road traffic collision involving two cars.

"Six people were taken to hospital, including one teenage girl who suffered a serious injury to her back. She remains in hospital at this time.

"Nobody has been arrested. A road closure was put in place but that has now been stood down."
