A CORONATION STREET star has pledged to get better at responding to fan mail and described working with legendary soap actor William Roache as "inspiring".

Blackburn's curly-haired heartthrob Alex Bain - who recently garnered plenty of female attention on his viral TikTok videos - was responding to questions on his Instagram page when he was asked if he ever receives fan mail.

He replied: "Indeed I do. I'm going to try and get a bit better at replying to them.

"As soon as my life calms down a little bit I'll be able to get round to responding more."

The 20-year-old, who plays Simon Barlow on the show, was also asked about what it is like to work with cobbles stalwart William 'Bill' Roache - who has played his on-screen grandfather Ken Barlow since Alex's arrival in Weatherfield in 2008.

He described the experience as "absolutely inspiring."

He said: "It's absolutely inspiring. Bill is a fantastic man to work with and be around.

"I'm honoured to have worked alongside him at Coronation Street for so long."

Bain has recently become something of a TikTok sensation, amassing a staggering 5.2 million views on choreographed routines set to music that he posts on the app.

In the Q&A, he said had he not become an actor, he feels his career would have been in dance.

Some lustful Corrie fans even admit to 'fancying Simon Barlow' in the comments section on his videos.

Bain went to Griffin Park Primary School before making his on-screen debut on Corrie in 2008, and has played Simon Barlow in the ITV soap for 13 years and counting.

He has recently teased a new business endeavour, announcing that he is now the chief executive and founder of Mjöllnir Productions Ltd - though few details have been given up to now.
