Around £10,000 and cannabis was thrown from a car during a police chase through Blackburn.
An officer spotted a Volkswagen Golf driving "suspiciously" in the opposite direction in Barbara Castle Way.
The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit took place in the town.
Officers said a bag was thrown from the car in Manor Road but the driver continued to evade police.
The car was abandoned in Walter Street and a short foot chase took place after which a male was detained.
The bag thrown from the car was retrieved and police found it to contain around £10,000 in cash, as well as a quantity of cannabis.
A 20-year-old man from Blackburn was arrested in Walter Street on suspicion of dangerous driving, drug-driving, driving while disqualified and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.
He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
