TWO drivers were issued with tickets last night after being caught watching television shows while driving on the motorway.

North West Motorway Police said the dangerous drivers, in separate vehicles and incidents, were seen watching TV on mobile phones when they should have been concentrating on the road ahead.

They were distracted from the road ahead of them by watching TV at speeds of up to 70mph.

A spokesperson for NWMP said: "Two drivers have been dealt with overnight for watching TV shows on their phones whilst driving. Both issued with a TOR."

The specific motorway and location of these offences have as yet not been confirmed.
