POLICE want to speak with a woman after a vicious assault on board a train in which a woman had her hair pulled and was called a "paedo" by another passenger.

Officers from British Transport Police are investigating the assault, which happened on a train between Blackpool and Kirkham, have released a CCTV image a woman they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

Just before 8am, on Tuesday, April 5, the victim boarded a Preston-bound service at Blackpool North station.

During her journey a woman sat diagonally across from her started shouting “paedo” and “you have my kids”.

The same woman then turned to another passenger and racially abused him.

She then stood up, approached the victim and shouted “look at me” before grabbing her hair and pulling her head towards the table.

After a few moments the woman then began punching and kicking the victim.

As a result of the attack, the victim sustained a split lip, black eyes and bruising to the face and body.

Officers believe the woman in the image may have information which could help their investigation.
