A MAN who crashed his car when he had children as passengers gave a roadside alcohol breath test nearly three times the legal limit.

Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard Grzegorz Kwasny remained at the scene until police arrived aftrer crashing his Renault Megane in Preston Old Road on April 16.

Kwasny, 40, of Hurstwood Avenue, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol at the hearing on May 5.

He blew more than three times the legal limit for alcohol - the limit is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath, meaning the reading was at least 105mcg.

He was fined £323 with £85 costs and £34 victim surcharge and banned from driving for 16 months.
