A driver of a heavy goods vehicle has tragically died after the vehicle he was driving left the road and partially overturned.
The incident happened as the HGV was travelling towards Blackburn Road on Higher Shuttleworth in Burnley on May 6 (Friday).
A Police spokesperson said: “We were called at around 12.40pm to a report that a HGV travelling towards Blackburn Road on Higher Shuttleworth in Burnley had left the carriageway and partially overturned.
“Sadly, the driver of the HGV, a man in his 50’s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing to determine the cause of the collision and establish the full circumstances. We’re now asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone with dashcam footage to call 101, quoting log 618 of May 6.”
