
THE funeral of a woman who worked at Accrington Victoria Hospital for 28 years, is taking place today.
Joan Sarsfield of Burnley Road, Huncoat died on April 23.

Following her school years at Holy Family, Joan worked as a shorthand typist at accountants Sandyman & Walmsley, Nationwide Building Society and at the Burnley probation office.
Then, for 28 years she worked at Accrington Victoria Hospital serving for many years as secretary to the medical social worker a ward aid in the general office and as casualty receptionist.
There is a requiem mass at St Joseph Church in Accrington at 10am today.
