A GROUP of nurses have reunited 40 years to the day after they first started their training at Burnley General hospital.
Marcia Gore, Lisa Cunliffe, Tracy Bracewell, Susan Bird, Julie Wall, Lynn Hayhurst, Alizon Taylor, Jackie Brockman and Carolyn Hudson were all aged between 18 and 20 when they started their nursing career on 4 May 1982.
Four decades later the nurses met at Bertrams Restaurant, Crow Wood, Burnley on Wednesday, May 4, for a reunion.
They shared fond memories; the group reminisced of the good times particularly living in the nurses' home, the social events and the learning experiences they had.

Marcia Gore said: “Many of the nurses are still working in the local hospitals and primary care settings.
“There are a few people missing from the original group 40 years ago.
"The group would love others to get in touch as there will be more reunions as they all intend to keep in contact.”
