A CRAZY golf fan is hoping to give back to his hometown by opening an 18-hole extravaganza close to the estate he grew up on.

Simon Greaves and his team have spent months getting Tee-rific Crazy Golf up and running and are looking forward to welcoming customers through their doors for the first time this week.

Mr Greaves came up with the idea of opening a crazy golf course in Blackburn having identified a gap in the market with no other courses located nearby.

Hundreds of hours have gone into perfecting the course, with some holes taking days to design and create.

Lancashire Telegraph:

Mr Greaves, from Shadsworth, settled on Old Bank Lane as the perfect location for his new endeavour after deciding he’d love nothing more than to invest back into his community.

He said: “My partner and I enjoy playing crazy golf. We found ourselves travelling out just to play the game with friends and family. That is when we had the idea to open our own crazy golf course.

“I have been wanting to invest money into a project for a while but nothing stood out to me.

“Investing into the community of Shadsworth means a great deal to me as I have grown up in Shadsworth and Blackburn is my hometown. I think crazy golf is what the town is missing

“I hope this brings families and friends together where they can come have a Tee-rific time, make lots of memories and meet new people.”

And already Simon and his team are planning to extend the course, with hopes for a large outdoor area becoming a further nine holes.

Simon added: “My favourite hole Is number 10. Loop the loop it is my favourite because it took over 30 hours to design and build and I'm extremely proud of it.”

Tee-rific Crazy Golf will be open seven days a week, 11am – 11pm.

There are no age restrictions but children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult.

No more than six people to a group, on any single course.

A party room for groups of up to twelve children will be available to booked from May 16.
