A Royal Ordnance Factory (ROF) staff member who was awarded The Imperial Service Medal for his service to the Crown has died.
A requiem mass will take place for Peter Lee, of Springhill Care Home, and formerly of Church, on May 4 at 11.30am.
The 94-year-old worked as an electrical apprentice, then completed his Army National Service in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, working as a radar engineer.
He was selected for a specialist REME Unit in Malvern testing new equipment.
After his Army service he moved to Accrington with his late wife Margaret in 1952 joining English Electric as a radar engineer. Later he moved to work in the electronics department of ROF Blackburn.
He enjoyed short-wave radio, photography and his computer. He leaves his son Anthony.
