The details of the funeral of campaigning mother Sylvia Lancaster OBE have been announced.
The mother of Sophie Lancaster, who was beaten to death in Stubbylee Park in Bacup in 2007, died aged 69 in Royal Blackburn Hospital on Tuesday, April 12.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 12 at 1pm at the Ashcroft, Market Street, Whitworth, followed by a burial at Whitworth Cemetery.
The devoted mother and CEO of a foundation created in her daughter’s name had been suffering from an illness but died unexpectedly in hospital.

Sylvia set up the Sophie Lancaster foundation following her daughter's murder to raise awareness about hate crimes against people of alternative subcultures after her daughter was killed because she was a goth.
Family flowers only, with donations if desired to be made in memory of Sylvia to the Sophie Lancaster Foundation.
