A charity which helps people's mental health has secured funding so it can continue its valuable work within the community.

Clitheroe-based charity, The Foundation for Ribble Valley Families, has been awarded three-year funding from the National Lottery Community Fund.

The £154,000 will cover all running costs and enable the group to expand their mental health and wellbeing provision for families in Ribble Valley.

The charity’s chair, Phil Mileham, said: “This is fantastic, as it means that every penny donated to us will go directly to helping the families that we’re here to support.

"We can now focus on developing our service without worrying about how we’ll pay the rent.

"The money will fund two part-time employees, who will concentrate on developing the future of the organisation, whilst ensuring the awareness of the valuable service continues to grow."

The Foundation for Ribble Valley Families responds to help families manage low level mental health problems through therapeutic coaching and mindfulness training.

The team of qualified practitioners are work with the clients during days rather than weeks, to minimise the impact, and promote positive mental health.
