A woman who has worked for East Lancashire Hospitals for over 40 years has helped to raise £3,000 for the Trust’s charity.

Teresa Lynch rounded up colleagues, friends and family to host a series of events at the Whitehall Hotel in Darwen

Teresa was inspired to take part in the fundraising drive when in 2006, her husband was diagnosed with throat cancer.

The Royal Blackburn Hospital's head and neck team provided exceptional care and he was successfully treated.

Her events that featured a variety of fun games, raffles and speakers and were hosted by her daughters, Nicola and Zoe who were described as the show's 'very own Ant and Dec.'

Nicola, who is a professional wedding singer, ensured the dance floor was always full.

Lancashire Telegraph:

Several of those who attended the events received different types of treatment at their local hospital so the group decided to split the funds across various services.

The group raised a total of £3,000, donating £2,500 to the head and neck team, and £500  to the chemotherapy unit at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital.

ELHT&Me is the official charity for East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust and raises funds for the benefit of patients and their loved ones across East Lancashire.
