A new cocktail and wine bar is opening in East Lancashire, bringing the style of the city to a small village.

Amici of Barrowford is hoping to open next week in the building once occupied by The Lounge.

A new team, including management and around 15 staff, will be providing guests with coffees and pastries during the day, with light bites, platters, cocktails, wine and prosecco in the evenings.

A spokesperson for the bar said: "Amici is a new venture in what used to be The Lounge in Barrowford, brought to you by people from the Ribble Valley.

"We took over the building on March 8 and since then have been working hard to get it open as soon as possible, hopefully for the bank holiday next weekend.

"We want to bring a professional, upmarket vibe to the area, with a different take on drinking and dining out.

"Our aim is to be more like a place you would find in the city, with cocktails and good wines, and great service.

"We will be open every day so in the mornings people can come for coffee and pastries, and then in the evenings you can enjoy a glass of champagne with a cheese or cold meat platter.

"We're a brand new team, bringing new investment and fresh faces to Barrowford.

"We're working hard to open as soon as we possibly can, and we very much look forward to welcoming people to 'Amici of Barrowford'."

Lancashire Telegraph:

The operations team at Amici (pronounced a-mee-che) have been redecorating the interior of the establishment and interviewing staff to join the growing team.

There's been new signage out the front and new fixtures and fittings installed too.
