A 74-year-old is set to appear in court charged with indecent exposure, racially aggravated public order and outraging public decency.

On Thursday, police arrested a man as part of an investigation into reports of an incident of indecent exposure in Rossendale.

Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, officers have now charged 74-year-old David Nightingale of Acre Avenue in Bacup with three counts of outraging public decency, two counts of indecent exposure and racially aggravated public order.

A spokesperson for the police said: "Yesterday, we told you a man had been arrested as part of an investigation into reports of indecent exposure in Rossendale.

"Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, David Nightingale, 74, of Acre Avenue, Bacup has been charged with three counts of outraging public decency, two of indecent exposure, and one racially aggravated public order."

Nightingale was remanded into custody.

Enquiries remain ongoing.
