It’s hard to believe that this rather non descript, fairly grubby building was part of a music scene which was bringing national attention to Blackburn.

Taken in May 1989, this photo shows Albert Mill, Lower Darwen, which had been home to an illegal Acid House party.

For several months, Blackburn was at the heart of the dance music scene with the town’s empty mills and warehouses being used to attracted hundreds of revellers from all over the country.
